New Fall Adult Study begins Sunday, September 27 after the worship service at Trinity. There’s a lot of talk about the “new normal” in these days of division, pandemic, and lurching news cycles. Sometimes things seem to change faster than we can adapt. We are not the first to feel this way. People throughout history – people in the Bible – have been alarmed and anxious by events churning way out of control. In this turbulent season, it is more important than ever to look to biblical models of thinking about – and reacting to – an unpredictable world.
How do we as Christians think about our world and our lives? Join us Sunday mornings after worship to begin to find out. We’ll be guided in our conversations by the meditations of Fr. Richard Rohr, a Franciscan monk who directs the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Rohr recently circulated a series of twenty-one brief messages which suggest that God’s plan for Creation begins with “Order,” moves to “Disorder,” and then to “Reorder.” We’ll use one of his messages to frame our discussion each Sunday.
